We love keeping reptiles. For many of us, this is more than a hobby — it's a lifestyle and a profession.
Unfortunately, not everyone sees things the way we do. Powerful, well-funded groups like People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) and The Humane Society of the U.S. hire lobbyists at the state and federal levels to ban the import, export and keeping of our beloved animals.

It's a good thing we have our own lobbying group: the United States Association of Reptile Keepers (USARK). From their mission statement:
"The United States Association of Reptile Keepers (USARK) is a science, education and conservation-based advocacy for the responsible private ownership of and trade in reptiles and amphibians. ... The health of these animals, public safety and maintaining ecological integrity are our primary concerns."
